For our 60th episode of IHAQ, we welcomed Freddie Tressler from TRACS, a sports marketing, and event management firm, to discuss how to replicate the live race experience virtually.

Obviously, 2020 was a challenging year for live events, but those challenges drove so much creativity across the industry.

Freddie talks about how they tried to replicate the race day experience by allowing runners to download virtual bibs with their race number and finisher certificates upon completion of the race.

What pushed the envelope of creativity was their use of virtual maps. They used race data to visually recreate what the finish line would look like had the runners been competing in person.

2020 taught us that there are many different ways to replicate the live in-person experience into this new digital world.
