Like all graduations this year, Northeastern University’s School of Nursing had to move their ceremony to virtual. They will still have a regular graduation ceremony in the future but wanted to recognize the hard work of their students at the time when they would have been walking across the stage.
They held Zoom calls for their 3 classes- Undergraduate, Graduate and their Charlotte campus. Just like a traditional ceremony, each featured the faculty and guest speakers giving messages to the class along with the student’s names being read.
They sent us the full zoom meetings and we cleaned up the full versions of each. We covering up for technical difficulties, down time, etc and also adding graphics and titles to make a nice presentation.
We also made these highlight videos for each ceremony. Not every student appeared on camera to “accept” their recognition, but I found it pretty touching to see the students celebrating at home with their families. Yes, it’s much different than what they were expecting, but it’s also a nice moment to be able to share with their loved ones. These graduates will now go and join the other front line medical workers helping us all in this pandemic.
